Sanford Heisler Sharp Partner Saba Bireda Reappointed To DC Bar Rules Of Professional Conduct Review Committee

May 21, 2021, Washington, D.C. – Sanford Heisler Sharp, today announced Saba Bireda, a Washington, D.C. partner and Co-Chair of the firm’s Discrimination and Harassment Practice, has been reappointed to a second 2-year term on the Washington D.C. Bar’s Rules of Professional Conduct Review Committee. The Rules of Professional Conduct Review Committee regularly reviews the D.C. Rules of Professional Conduct for possible revisions and amendments.

Bar as a member of this important committee,” said Bireda. “There is heightened interest in the conduct and behavior of professionals in many positions of trust and responsibility today, including attorneys. The work of this committee makes a significant contribution to public confidence in our ethics and actions.”

A 2007 graduate of Harvard Law School, Bireda has represented employees in individual and class actions to redress race, gender and pregnancy discrimination since joining the firm in 2016.  Prior to that, she served in the Obama administration at the U.S. Department of Education for three years, including two as Senior Counsel in its Office for Civil Rights.

Bireda was appointed by DC Mayor Muriel Bowser to the District’s Public Charter School Board in 2016 and reappointed in 2019. Other achievements include teaching at the UDC David A. Clarke School of Law and American University’s School of Education and service on the Boards of the National Student Legal Defense Network, Thousand Currents, and Children’s National Hospital.
