Job Description:

Legal Intake and Operations Specialists help our firm’s leadership identify new litigation opportunities by conducting intake interviews with the firm’s potential clients, distilling the facts of a potential client’s claims, and providing thoughtful summaries of their claims to the firm’s intake management team. Legal Intake and Operations Specialists also help the firm’s Chief Operating Officer with a number of operations projects.

Our firm’s leadership expects Legal Intake and Operations Specialists to be thorough in all their assigned work. Our representation of a potential client is often determined by a Legal Intake and Operations Specialist’s intake write-up. A well-written intake write-up helps our firm’s leadership reach the right decision and can help our attorneys navigate some of the legal challenges they will likely confront in the event we represent the potential client.

Qualifications:

An applicant must have a bachelor’s degree to be eligible and should be available to start working this summer.

A competitive applicant will have:

  • a dedication to civil rights, social justice, and public interest litigation;
  • a demonstrated commitment to at least one of the firm’s practice areas;
  • proficiency in Microsoft Office, Adobe, Microsoft Teams, and Zoom (proficiency in Litify is a plus);
  • excellent written and verbal communication skills (fluency in Spanish is a plus);
  • great attention to detail and a desire to follow and iterate on process;
  • strong time management and organizational skills;
  • a collaborative spirit when working with colleagues in the office and remotely; and
  • experience in a professional environment (experience in a client-facing role is a plus).

Hours: Legal Intake and Operations Specialists work 40+ hours per week (i.e., Monday through Friday from 9:30 a.m. ET to ~6:30 p.m. ET).

Salary: The first-year annualized salary for this position is $60,000 and the second-year annualized salary is $63,000. Legal Intake and Operations Specialists are eligible for overtime.
