Lesly Gissell Zhicay

Lesly Gissell Zhicay is a Legal Assistant in the New York Office of Sanford Heisler Sharp, a national law firm with offices in the District of Columbia, New York, California, Tennessee, and Maryland. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree with Honors from Cornell University’s School of Industrial and Labor Relations.

At Cornell, Lesly focused on labor economics and conducted statistical analysis investigating the impact of federal and state policies on employment and earnings outcomes across the United States. Lesly completed an internship at the EEOC, where she gained extensive knowledge in labor and employment law, applying federal law to cases and providing summary recommendations.

As a native Spanish speaker, Lesly has contributed her skills as a translator and cultural interpreter for the Cornell Law Farmworkers Clinic, Workers Institute, and for environmental advocacy groups within the Amazon Rainforest.

With a keen interest in economics, sustainability, and a deep passion for the legal field, Lesly aspires to pursue a JD/PhD in the future.
