Legal Assistant

Emily Haney is a Legal Assistant in the Nashville office of Sanford Heisler Sharp McKnight, a national law firm with offices in the District of Columbia, New York, California, Tennessee, and Maryland. She received her B.S. with honors from Cornell University, where she majored in Human Development as well as minored in Inequality Studies and Law & Society.

Before Joining Sanford Heisler Sharp McKnight, Emily completed legal research in the Child Witness and Cognition Lab working on the South Carolina Capital Jury Project and International Study of Children’s Suggestibility. During her final year at Cornell, she conducted an honors thesis titled “Family Status Impact on Jury Selection Processes,” studying the impact of parenthood and marital status on excusals from South Carolina capital jury cases. Outside of academics, Emily also has experience working in childcare and hospitality.

Emily hopes to attend law school in the future and pursue her passion for juvenile justice.
