Legal Intake and Operations Specialist

Sophie Chochaeva is a Legal Intake and Operations Specialist in the Nashville office of Sanford Heisler Sharp, a national law firm with offices in the District of Columbia, New York, California, Tennessee, Maryland, and Georgia. She received her B.A. from Haverford College, where she majored in Comparative Literature and minored in Political Science.

During her time at Haverford College, Sophie was the President of the Tri-College Law Review and taught Russian language and cultural competency with the Bryn Mawr College Russian Language Program, part of U.S. Department of Defense’s National Security Education Program. Her coursework focused on American public policy, immigration law, and post/decolonial literature, and included projects about the legal implications of call center outsourcing and offshoring by American businesses, historical instances of racial discrimination in Quaker higher education institutions, and podcasts. She also worked as a legal intake and translator in a Russian nonprofit and independent media organization providing legal aid to victims of political persecution and police brutality in Russia.

Sophie hopes to attend law school in the future.
