Neha Sharma

Legal Assistant

Neha Sharma (they/them) is a Legal Assistant in the Baltimore office of Sanford Heisler Sharp, a national law firm with offices in the District of Columbia, New York, California, Tennessee, and Maryland.

Neha received their B.A. in Legal Studies from the University of California, Berkeley in May 2022.

As a person from diverse backgrounds and experiences, Neha is committed to uplifting the voices of marginalized people. Neha focused their Legal Studies education at UC Berkeley on Law, Rights, & Social Change. In other words, Neha focused on the historical relationship between American law and major political events/movements and their causal effects on the socioeconomic status of various groups of people. Neha takes a special interest in the intersections of law, race, gender, sexuality, and class. Neha’s research in their undergraduate career focuses on the experiences of prisoners and/or queer/trans people of color. Aside from understanding marginalization/systems of oppression, Neha also enjoys learning about media and communication.

In addition to Legal Studies, Neha also did diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) work with various queer/trans student organizations at UC Berkeley. Most notably, Neha served as a Board Director for the Queer Alliance Resource Center (QARC), one of the oldest collegiate LGBTQ+ student organizations in the nation, for three years. Neha devoted much of their college career to providing vital resources to LGBTQ+ students, helping students feel safe, and supported.

Outside of their academic and professional career, Neha enjoys playing games for fun, watching movies and shows, and learning to cook. Neha also likes volunteering for local events and community centers whenever possible and providing mentorship or advice to younger folks.

Neha is using their time at Sanford Heisler and Sharp to determine whether a career in law and/or non-profit is right for them.
