Anna Tropiano

Senior Legal Assistant

Anna Tropiano is a Senior Legal Assistant in the San Diego office of Sanford Heisler Sharp, a national law firm with offices in the District of Columbia, New York, California, Tennessee, and Maryland. She received her B.A. with highest distinction from the University of Michigan and the Residential College.

While at Michigan, Anna pursued her studies in Political Science and Writing both inside and outside of the classroom; focusing her academics on issues of civil and constitutional rights, she completed a senior capstone essay that explored why the American occupiers of Japan codified gender equality in Articles 14 and 24 of the 1947 Japanese Constitution following World War II. Throughout college Anna served as the editorial intern for the gender parity nonprofit Take the Lead Women and as a peer writing consultant at Michigan’s Sweetland Center for Writing.

Additional experiences include: a year-long research internship with U.S. Department of State Bureau of Oceanic and Scientific Affairs studying violence against environmental defenders, acting as a research assistant to a Michigan law student, and volunteering at Washtenaw County’s Office of Public Defender.

Anna hopes to attend law school in the future to pursue her passion for public service and public interest issues.
