Amira Dehmani

Legal Assistant

Amira Dehmani is a Legal Assistant in the Washington, DC office of Sanford Heisler Sharp McKnight, a national law firm with offices in the District of Columbia, New York, California, Tennessee, and Maryland. She received her B.A. in political science and her M.A. in sociology from Stanford University. Amira graduated with distinction and was inducted into Pi Sigma Alpha and Pi Delta Phi.

At Stanford, Amira was the Chair of the 24th Undergraduate Senate and served as the 2024 ASSU Elections Commissioner. She was a Frosh Resident Assistant, a Team Leader for the Alumni Association’s Homecoming Reunion, and a Peer Advisor for the political science and sociology departments. Amira also worked at the Stanford Law School’s Center for Racial Justice, was an Undergraduate Fellow at the Constitutional Law Center, and was a Teaching Assistant for Public Speaking. She won the 2023 Cap and Gown Women Leaders Award and the Stanford Award of Excellence. Previously, Amira interned at the National Museum of African American History and Culture as well as at the Library of Congress. She was also a Research Assistant under Dr. Aliya Saperstein in Stanford’s sociology department and for Dr. Adom Getachew at the Stanford Humanities Center.

Amira loves to bake and is learning how to crochet a sweater. She has recently become a big fan of women’s basketball and is looking forward to cheering on the Washington Mystics this season.
