July 6 2020, New York – Sanford Heisler Sharp today announced that Russell Kornblith, the firm’s New York Managing Partner, has been named a national Rising Star in Employment by Law360. Kornblith was previously named a Benchmark Litigation Labor & Employment Star in the Northeast for his plaintiff litigation skills in both 2018 and 2019.

A 2012 graduate of Harvard Law School, Kornblith joined Sanford Heisler Sharp in 2014, after completing two prestigious federal clerkships. He was promoted to Senior Litigation Counsel in 2015 and named Managing Partner of the firm’s largest office (out of six offices nationwide) in 2017. Since then, he has hired and managed a diverse staff of some 30 individuals, from partners to legal assistants, while pursuing a national plaintiff’s practice, including managing multi-million-dollar class action cases. His practice focuses on the representation of employees in wage and hour, employment discrimination and qui tam/whistleblower matters across the U.S.

Merck & Co., Inc., in New Jersey, a $1.75 million settlement on behalf of a financial industry CEO, and a $796,000 settlement of a qui tam matter for the relator in United States ex rel. Olarte v. Temple St. Clair in New York, as well as dozens of significant confidential settlements. Other recent accomplishments include representing six former female associates at Jones Day, in Tolton et al. v. Jones Day in Washington, DC, in a high-profile gender discrimination matter that has touched a raw nerve in BigLaw, and representation of a former general counsel in a suit against her former employer, CEO and Board Chair in Saltzman v. Exl Service Holdings, Inc., in New York.
Kornblith is the fourth attorney at Sanford Heisler Sharp to earn recent national recognition from Law360: Baltimore Managing Partner Deborah K. Marcuse was named an Employment MVP by the publication in 2019; Washington, DC, Partner Kate Mueting was named an Employment Rising Star in 2019; and David Sanford has been named an Employment Lawyer MVP and Titan of the Plaintiffs’ Bar.
