Sanford Heisler formally began in October 2012, as an outgrowth of the firm formerly known as Sanford Wittels & Heisler LLP. David Sanford and Jeremy Heisler founded a law firm so they could litigate public interest and social justice cases about which they were passionate. That vision has been realized in the significant successes they and the attorneys working with them have achieved over the past decade.
Today, David is Chairman of the Firm, and Jeremy is Managing Partner of the New York Office. Janette Wipper and Kate Kimpel, who both came to the firm after dedicating their careers to social justice causes, are now the Managing Partners of the San Francisco and Washington, D.C. offices.
David, Jeremy, Janette and Kate believe strongly in using the law to help balance the scales and stem the tides of employment discrimination and corruption. They represent the underpaid employee against the employer unlawfully padding its profit margins by withholding wages and overtime pay; the victims of dangerous products against the corporations seeking to conceal their negligence; or the whistleblower standing up against schemes to defraud the U.S. government and endanger the American people. At the same time, Sanford Heisler is a place where individuals with deserving claims can find a quality of representation that is usually not available to those with limited means.
From a team of three in 2004, the firm now has offices in New York, Washington, D.C. and San Francisco, with more than 25 attorneys, over 20 legal assistants, and a vibrant summer associate program drawing solely from law students at the top 10 law schools in the United States. In addition, our attorneys have served as lead counsel in scores of class actions, securing hundreds million dollars for our clients and bringing about significant change in the policies and procedures at corporations throughout the United States.
